Pet Acupuncture

Who can treat your pet?
You should find a veterinarian who has undergone a certification course for veterinary acupuncture.  The International Veterinary Acupuncture Society has been training veterinarians since the 1970s.  They require completion of classroom instruction, a written case study and  practical and written examinations.  To maintain certification, a veterinarian is required to follow-up with continuing education courses in veterinary acupuncture.  Christina Fuoco, VMD, who completed the IVAS training,  has been treating veterinary patients with acupuncture since 2004.  She has treated patients successfully for arthritis, kidney failure, paralysis from spinal disc disease, Wobblers disease, blindness due to uveitis, and ulcerative stomatitis (mouth ulcers).  She is currently seeing patients both in private practice at Queen Village Animal Hospital in Philadelphia and at the University of Pennsylvania's Ryan Veterinary Hospital.
